Well lets see…
I find it interesting that the first Hero to seriously consider going public, is the cheerleader, which is a stereotype often associated with showing off. I wonder what would happen with the show if people did know about the existance of the Heroes, probably not as bad as post-bombed New York, with that, people had a reason to be angry at the Heroes: Sylar causing the explosion (yes I know it was really Peter, the population of the world didn’t). There would no doubt be a national debate and meanwhile all the Heroes would be in hiding (or in costume).
I find it questionable that Peter isn’t a little more suspicious of Adam at this point, 2 people have independently told him that Adam was behind those murders, plus he killed Victoria Pratt right in front of Peter’s eyes. Even though he might not have trusted Pratt after she told him the virus was in New Mexico, he has no reason to distrust Hiro. But Peter really isn’t that stupid, so maybe he has a trick up his sleeve? He can walk through walls, stop time, heal himself, shoot lightning from his hands and move objects with his mind, so it’s not like Adam can do too much to him. Even if he gets stabbed in the head, he can regenerate from that, which Adam doesn’t know about. So if Adam ends up trying to kill Peter he will most likely try to blast his brains out, which may or may not work the same as a head stabbing.
You know, I beginning to think that in addition to the mutation giving powers and raising the probability of brain miswirings (Charlie’s blood clot, Arthur Petrelli’s depression, Niki’s Multiple Personalities), it can also lead to megalomania: first Sylar, then Linderman, then Adam (okay okay, technically Adam was first, then Linderman and Sylar). If this turns out to have a medical basis, hey presto: supervillan plot device.
I find it odd that Monica couldn’t get out of the building in time, say, as the thugs were coming in the front door. I also find it odd that when they had a hold of her, she couldn’t get out of it. But you know what I find the most odd? That she didn’t watch every video on that Ipod the instant she got it! Seriously! It’s not like she is a one trick pony like a mind reader, or healer, but her ability can be added on to, like Peter’s, with little or no downside. If I were her, I’d expand my repertoire as far as it would go! Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it (case in point)!
Well, it’s almost 24 hours late, but I think it’s actually one of my better posts of late. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ll just collapse into a gibbering pile of goo on the floor due to stress. Thank you and good night.
