Jake 2.0 Episodes 4-6 “Arms and the girl” “The good, the bad, and the geeky” and “Last Man standing”
A nice batch of episodes, with Jake getting flustered with a girl, classic geekery, and hallucinations. Yay!
First up: arms and the girl. This episode consists of Jake being assigned to watch the daughter of an arms dealer for info on him, but he ends up dating her (of course). (spoiler) By the end of the episode, it is revealed that the daughter is the one running the arms operation, under the name of her father. She was just using Jake to throw the NSA off her trail, by planting evidence for him to find. The annoying thing is that Jake was convinced that she was really interested in him, proving that he isn’t exactly the best when it comes to judging women’s emotions (/spoiler)
The good the bad and the geeky. After catching a hacker that stole 10 billion dollars from the Federal Reserve, Jake has to take his place at a meeting with his cybergroup in Berlin. (spoiler) It turns out that the group thinks it’s trying to hijack a plane to hold it hostage, but because the plane has the CEOs of a company the hacker the used to work for, the plan is to crash the plane, and blame the rest of the group. Plenty of Technomancy-fodder in this episode, as well as some great geek tributes (at one point Jake pretends his name is Kevin Flynn, and at another he plays “Iron Hawk Night Quest” (a spoof of World of Warcraft) for 18 hours straight).
Last man Standing. Jake heads to a friends wedding to get away from work for a while, and when he gets there, discovers that not only did Sarah bring a guy when he thought they were going together, but someone seems to be stalking him, AND one of the nanite laced lab mice became paralyzed just before he left. (spoiler) Diane shows up partway through the episode because Jake mentioned he was the only one at the wedding alone. It turns out that the guy Jake thinks has been stalking him is just a hallucination caused by the nanites, which occurred just before paralization. Diane reboots the nanites, and mystery hallucination guy goes poof. It turns out that the guy Sarah brought was gay, and when she asks Jake to dance, he actually turns her down to dance with Diane! It looks like Jake is getting better at this whole understanding women thing. (/spoiler)
