Oy, again with the cliff hangers? This really isn’t funny anymore, and you guys are going to have trouble outdoing yourself, if you keep this up. Especially since we know that Peter won’t kill everyone just after the start of the next episode, maybe later (big maybe. See below) but not immediately. Several reasons why:
-
In the promo for the next episode, we see Peter, NOT in Kirby Plaza, and at a different time of day. Meaning he has to wait a bit before he goes boom if at all.
-
He has yet to be affected by Hiro (present day Hiro, after going to the future), meaning fate-wise, he’s still headed for the future from 5 Years Gone. The only person Hiro has affected so far, is Sylar, and MAYBE Virgina Grey (Sylar’s mom). And in the Five years gone future, Parkman and Bennet, are still around and thus didn’t/won’t die from being at ground zero of the Peter-bomb.
-
In the promo for the next episode, we see Sylar saying “Boom” in his creepy voice, and in this episode, we see him finger paint the explosion in his mother’s blood (creepy…). His claim that he could be special, he could be president continues to suggest that Hiro hasn’t made enough of a dent in Sylar’s fate to switch him off the path from Five Years Gone, except perhaps just enough to make HIM the bomb and not Peter. Plus there is the painting, suggesting that Sylar is still going to be the bomb. And if he does tke the power but can’t handle it, he will explode (he has been unable to handle the effects of a power before: Dale Smither. He complained of a headache the morning after acquiring her power, and Ted’s is Notoriously hard to control)
What is far more likely to happen, is some one is going to punch him in the face and knock him out (probably Mr. Bennet)
Various other theories proved/disproved:
-
Molly Walker has a power: DUH!
-
Candace CAN’T shape shift, just create illusions: she claimed that she could make Micah see anything she wanted him to see, which suggests illusion. Granted she COULD also have shapeshifting abilities, but that would be the first time (outside of Sylar and Peter) we see someone having multiple powers (Hiro may seem like he has several powers, but he actually can only bend space time. However he can do a lot of things bending spacetime, which may make it seem like he has multiple powers)
-
Shanti has a power: Neither prover NOR disproven, but there is more evidence to support it. If Molly Walker and Shanti have the same disease, and Molly has a power, which the disease interfered with, and is thus related to, then it is likely that Shanti has a power as well.
Props to Mohinder for playing hardball with Primatech in Kirby Plaza, not awesome list worthy, but noteworthy. In fact nobody did anything majorly awesome list worthy (unless you count the snow globe thing Sylar did with the water hose, but eh), this episode was mostly to set up for the last 2 episodes, and guarantee that Peter has Ted’s power, to make him a suspect once again for being the bomb.
The next episode is when things are going to start getting interesting!
