this is either a sign of the end of the world or a new age of wondrous dnd joy.
they’re announcing a 4th edition of dnd
It seems like it’s designed to be easier for new players to learn how to play (which was apparently a gripe people had about 3rd edition, but I’m not complaining) and will have rules that allow for online play as well.
I myself DM 2 separate D&D campaigns, and I will not be upgrading immediately to 4th edition (due to a large variety of factors, primarily being cheap, and being lazy), but I would certainly like to check it out if this online play is all they claim it is (*puts on skeptic hat* which i very much doubt. One of the reasons D&D works so well as a tabletop rpg and not computer based, is the AI is less A and more I. If your group comes to the edge of the woods, in a computer game you can’t go any further because the woods are too thick. In a tabletop game, you can get out your axe and start hacking away.)

Someone check hell’s weather charts for snow, I’ll research genetic manipulation to see if they’ve managed to breed pigs with wings.
